Nazmi Durbakayım, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Constructors Association, explained the important items of the amendments to be made according to the draft of the Planned Areas Development Directive, which was prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanism and defined as the “Constitution of the Construction Industry”, to Erdem Aktürk from the newspaper Habertürk. Nazmi Durbakayım said that the draft sent to municipalities and NGOs will be published after receiving the opinion and said that he expects the draft to be approved by June. Increasing criticism about stray urbanization and bad silhouette will end with the new zoning regulation prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanism.

With the new regulation, the studio apartment will no longer be built. Nazmi Durbakayım said that the smallest apartment could be constructed as a 1 bedroom and one living room apartment with a minimum size of 28.5 square meters instead of the studio apartments which are out of use purpose. In this scope, the smallest area to be built includes 1 living room (12.00 square meters), 1 bedroom (9.00 square meters), 1 kitchen or dining room (3.30 square meters), 1 bathroom or washing place (3.00 square meters), 1 toilet (1.20 square meters) in total 28.50 square meters in size.



With the new regulation, base stations can be made in the remaining area after the neighboring distances have been pulled in places where floor space is 40 percent.
