According to the information gathered from the Borsa Istanbul data, the foreign investors, who are on the buyer side in the most part of the stock exchange last year, also made net purchases in the first two months of 2017.
The foreign investor made a net purchase of $ 154 million in February after a purchase of $ 816 million in January. Thus, foreign investors’ net purchases in the first two months of the year rose to $ 970 million. In the Stock Exchange Istanbul, the BIST 100 index rose 1.37 percent in TL terms and 5.09 percent in dollar terms due to the influx of foreign investors last month. Foreign investors preferred bank share prices in February as they were in January. Foreign investors preferred the İş Bank (C) stock last month with a net purchase of $ 69.8 million, while Arcelik was the biggest shareholder with $ 18.9 million. In February, the most common stocks of foreign investors were Is Bankasi (C) with 34 million dollars in Garanti Bank, 28,9 million dollars with Vakif Bank, 26,6 million dollars with Akbank and 22,6 million dollars with Emlak Konut Real Estate Investment Trust. Foreign investors sold the largest share in February, after Arcelik, with Turkish Airlines with $ 16.3 million, and Petkim and BiM with $ 10 million.
