“Long-term residence permit brings foreign investor to my country”
The first day of the new year came. Looking at the overall picture, we see an increase of 1.17 percent this year compared to the previous year. Another pleasing picture came from a foreign investor. Household sales made by foreigners increased by 25.7 percent to 1.742 compared to the same month of the previous year. The new figures show that this increase will continue in 2018 with a rising momentum. Some work is being done to gain momentum in the sector. These are important steps, but a number of regulations can be made in the Reciprocity Act of 2012, so that the acceleration of housing sales figures is achieved at the same rate for both domestic and foreign investors. Foreigners who buy at least $ 1 million in the name of not selling the property for three years are entitled to receive Turkish citizenship. We know that in Europe there is a chance to buy more suitable real estate and gain citizenship and residence rights. Completion of the works for the long-term residence permit in Turkey will increase the demand for foreign investors.

“Soon we will see new projects”
Residential sales closed with a record increase in 2017. Despite a record-breaking 1.41 million passengers in the first half of last year with a strong headwind effect, it was in a downward trend in the last quarter of the year. The reason for this was that all the incentives in the housing sector had come to an end by the end of September, in addition to the rise in loan interest rates. However, when we look at the TURKSTAT data released today; we see that housing sales have started to increase again in the new year. With the incentive package now prepared, we can reach the sales figures that are still missed. In addition, according to the building permission statistics announced in the past days, we have seen that 1 million 323 thousand housing units were licensed in 2017. The number of licenses, which was 986 thousand in the previous year, increased by 32.3 percent. This means that we will soon see new projects.
